Silent Auction Lodge Fundraiser

by Lee G.
(Mountain View, MO)

Mountain View, MO Lodge #637 recently held a silent auction lodge fundraiser during our town's "Pioneer Days." It was a great success.

In preparation a month prior, our brothers distributed a letter to local businesses and craftsmen stating that we were going to conduct a silent auction and that a portion of the earning would go to our sponsored charities.

Within the letter, we listed which charities we had supported in the past and what works we intended to do in the future.

To our great satisfaction, donations started coming in. The event was held and during the 8 hours of festivities, bid and rebids were collected.

At the end of the day, the winners were notified and the lodge earned around $1200 for basically one day's worth of labor.

We were very satisfied and intend to make this an annual event.

Hi Lee,

Congratulations on what sounds like a very successful auction.

Thanks for sharing it so other lodges may be able to use this Silent Auction Lodge Fundraiser idea for their own lodge charity fund.

Simon
