Gold Scarf Ring with Egyptian Hieroglyphics

Hi!

My grandfather was a Mason and my grandmother in the Eastern Star. On their death (many years ago now) I inherited what I understand to be a Masonic or Eastern Star gold scarf ring with what appears to be egyptian hieroglyphics on the outside.

It is about 3cm by just under 2cm in size. I wondered if you could provide any information about it and what the hieroglyphics might mean. Also, does it have any particular value?
