Gold Masonic Jewelry

by Deborah
(Pittsburgh, PA)

This piece of Masonic Jewelry was either my Grandfather's, or his Father's. I would suspect it to be at least 60 years old, if not more.

It is gold. I know they were Masons, but I have no
idea what this piece is or what it represents. It would be interesting to know if anyone can share their knowledge. My grandfather emigrated from Scotland. Thanks!

Simon:
Would anyone like to help Deborah to learn a little more about this piece of jewelry?

All you have to do is type directly into the form.

DeMolay Chevalier Jewel
by: John W. Payne

I believe that it is the jewel of a Demolay Chevalier and honor group. I received one similar in the early 70's for helping start a new chapter in my home town.

Fob or pendant
by: Anonymous

Thanks for your input to the puzzle. This gold piece is not a pin, but has a loop at the top - maybe a fob? I know what Demolay is and the natural assumption that Demolay boys wear Demolay jewelry as you noted. I was hoping that someone would recognize the piece and what it was used for.

Masonic Pin Identification
by: G. Moxley

This looks to be a DeMolay pin: DeMolay, is a Masonic youth group for boys between the ages of 12 and 21, which was founded in 1919 in Kansas City, Missouri by Frank S. Land, a Freemason. Members of DeMolay wear DeMolay pins and other DeMolay jewelry.

Simon says: DeMolay is a great organization. Would anyone care to add to this as to what the 10 rubies in their DeMolay emblem, mean?
