Early 1900's Knight Templar Hat

This Knight Templar hat is black, wide brimmed and has one brim turned up. On the turned up brim are the letters "KNIGHT TEMPLAR" spelled out in what looks like rhinestones. On the remaining brim is a white feather about 4" in diameter.

The hat has two cords hanging down with a clip that slides up under the chin. It is made by LEE.

This hat belonged to my grandfather, Henry D. Staehle (1879-1926). He died at age 47, so I assume that the hat is 84 years old or older.

I believe he belonged to York Rite and Knight Templar in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

I can't find any photos of this hat online. Could it be a hat that the Mounted Knight Templar wore?

Any information on who wore such a hat would be very welcome.

Thank you.
